Adoptable Pet
of the Week
"Henrietta"

Henrietta needs a forever home!

Henrietta: 6 year old spayed Chihuahua mix dog

Good day all, my name's Henrietta. I'm a delicate lady of around 6 years of age and weigh just 10 pounds. I'm a Chihuahua mixed breed dog just bursting with love. I will let you know I'm ready for all that attention by nudging your hand with my head. And then if you really don't get the hint, I am going to tap you! I am quiet and calm, but if you want to play a bit I can get silly. When you and I go out together I am going to stop along the way and make friends, I am a bit of a socialite. So get ready, we are going to be so popular! I'd be a great companion for a moderately active senior and apartment living suits me just fine. I am over 5 years old and qualify for the Senior to Senior Program. If you are over 55 years old and you adopt an animal over five years of age, the adoption fee is waived and all you would pay for is a rabies tag. I will benefit from structured training lessons which are offered right here at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League, which offers ongoing classes for the both of us.

For information on adopting, please contact Peggy Adams Rescue League at 561-686-3663.

If you want to help but can't adopt permanently, please consider fostering, or make a donation. Contact Peggy Adams Rescue League for more information

Foreclosure Pets

People aren't the only ones affected by the current foreclosure crisis. The number of pets at local shelters has doubled. In some cases, pets are simply being abandoned, sometimes even left indoors without food or water.

"The current U.S. financial crisis has the potential to grow into a serious animal welfare issue," warns Executive Vice President of ASPCA Programs, Dr. Stephen Zawistowski. "As households across the country are caught in the economic downturn, an estimated 500,000 to one million cats and dogs are at risk of becoming homeless."

For more information about how you can adopt a foreclosure pet, please contact one of the following animal rescue organizations:
