New Haven at Abacoa was built by DiVosta Homes between 1998 and 2001 and features 505 Victorian-style townhomes and single-family homes in two sections. The single family homes range in size from 1,300-3,500 square feet under air and 2-5 bedrooms. The townhomes range in size from 1400-1800 square feet, including 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, two car garages, and often a 400 square foot private patio.

Homeowner association fees include common area maintenance and basic cable. Both sections of New Haven have their own community clubhouse, mail rooms, swimming pools, and playgrounds.
